Isis Center is a Short-term Acute Residential Treatment (START) Program with a strong motivational interviewing and psychosocial rehabilitation approach to working with our clients. We also use cognitive-behavioral / dialectical behavior (DBT) treatment strategies within our program, which is a unique alternative to psychiatric hospitalization.
General Description
Administer medical care using nursing procedures according to standards of practice. Ensures health care needs of clients are met using nursing skills or obtaining assistance from other health care providers. This position requires a large quantity of very high quality work. Performs nursing assessment of clients being considered for admission and will also assess client appropriateness for admission in face-to-face meeting according to facility guidelines. Assists the treatment team in making appropriate referrals and transfers if admission to a crisis residence is contra-indicated. Monitor clients' response to medications and maintains the storage of medication according to the regulations of Community Care Licensing. Provide health education and medication instructions to clients and staff as outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
Must be available to work evenings and weekends due to varying shifts
Qualifications / Skills Requirements
Current CA nursing license and CPR certification. Candidate must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency situation. The employee's licensure must be kept current as a condition of employment. Must have experience with the mental health population.
